With a contemporary Owen and Vokes renovation, this family home was finished with a combination of new and old. Creating a welcoming environment that will adapt with the family’s needs and lifestyle.

Description—
This unique art deco mountain property reflects the style and sophistication of its original time. The client’s requirements were for a functional kitchen to satisfy the family of cooks whilst still maintaining the slenderness of the art deco scale and a highly finished interior. There was a conscious decision to maintain and restore most of the original fittings giving the house a truly unique presence. PUSH were the architects for the renovation.

This full floor display apartment sits high in the Brisbane skyline. The styling portrays a glamorous and unique lifestyle. Furniture and decorations from various decades combine to create a contemporary home appealing to a broad market.

The decor of this newly renovated turn of the century family home had to appear as if it had evolved over time. Traditional and modern furniture sit comfortably together, while robustness was a determining factor in many selections as the decor was required to support the activities of four children. PUSH were the architects for the extension and renovation of the home.

Description—
Forty Park Avenue was a collaboration between Coop and Jadecorp creating 5 unique penthouse style riverside apartments.
The brief was for an interior of unsurpassed elegance with an attention to detail not before seen apartment developments. The palette and detail appeals to a sophisticated market, whilst being contemporary homes, the apartments have classic references allowing them to reflect the character of their owners.

- KANGAROO POINT APARTMENT

Description—
The penthouse apartment has been completely re-orientated and opened to maximise its views to the Gateway, Woolloongabba, CBD, Story Bridge and Beyond. The silver, grey and cream palette gives the apartment a warm yet glamorous experience.
- SUNSHINE BEACH APARTMENT

Description—
Only 80 sqm the apartment has become a weekend retreat from a busy city life. Originally only two bedrooms and one bathroom on the lower level the new plan splits the occupation, having a bedroom on each floor and each with their own bathroom. Walls were demolished and views were opened up throughout to allow more light in and also to provide an illusion of space.

The creation of this home was in collaboration with Sarah Briant Architect from Quirk Architecture. The mid 20th century inspired interior creates spaces for display, maximises storage and is an energetic backdrop for three young children to live freely.

Project Description—
Minor changes and additions were made to this petite 30’s bungalow. The entry was opened up to create a connection to the new rear verandah. The decorative palette is retained to create an interior to comfort and nurture the occupants’ busy professional lives.

Project Description—
The house encompasses the tastes, lifestyles and needs of a family that has five adult children living at home. The interior was approached as if it were a small hotel; creating individual suites rather than bedrooms with a series of indoor-outdoor communal spaces that embrace the edge of the Brisbane River.
Coop worked with Push Architects to create this home.

- DORNOCH PENTHOUSE

Dornoch Penthouse
Project Description—
The late 70’s interior previously didn’t take advantage of the panoramic view of the Brisbane skyline. The interior planning was completely changed to maximise the generous length of the space of the apartment. The entry and public zones split the apartment to create two self contained private zones. With a warm palette to protect against the skyline glare, the decor combines classic and traditional detailing to create an elegant and timeless backdrop for the beautiful artwork in the apartment.

The decor is the backdrop for a personal collection of beautiful objects. The richness in the new interior creates an inner sanctuary and provides refuge from a busy modern world

Project Description—
Built in the 80’s the interior and courtyard needed an overhaul. Over three levels the program changed to become a sequence of flexible public and private spaces. Sliding panels, screens, pivoting doors, white and acrylic contrasts were overlayed into the interior to reduce the domination of the existing brickwork throughout.

Originally a standard two bedroom apartment in an unremarkable cavity brick 70’s apartment block, the new interior opens up to create changable spaces with different levels of privacy. The planning sets up foreground and background vistas creating an internal landscape.

Our client was a very experienced restaurateur who wanted a specific look for his most recent venture Sage, an upmarket urban café. Highly finished materials were used alongside a vintage wallpaper to give the space its very own personality.

Queen St Dental is a second generation practice with an existing quality fit out completed in the mid 80’s. The scope was to update the space and services to meet current needs as well giving it a new individual and contemporary look.

This legal chamber respects tradition and formality, but also reflects a contemporary influence through the use of modern furniture and textiles.

The barrister’s reception required a face lift and upgrade of furniture. A vintage Fornasetti wallpaper of Roman City was used to add imagery and movement.

Description—
A limited palette was used to direct the focus to the product in this lighting showroom. We approached this project much like an exhibiting tradeshow, by creating an insertion into an existing space, free from the perimeter structure. The pod structure allowed us to create divisions in the space for different lighting products.

Description—
This unique office is home to a financial business the palate creates a visual feast that stops traffic. The confidant interior is a reflection of the client and a strong business. Colour and pattern is used to enhance the scale of the space creating a statement interior unlike any other.

The brief was to create a cheerful space where children undergoing rehabilitation and their families could feel comfortable and at ease. The design intent was to create a space that the client and her patients could personalise and interact with. Basic materials were used in an innovative way, to create a crafted aesthetic on a modest budget.

Description—
The brief was to transform an old warehouse to create a showroom with strong connection to the street, as the open plan warehouse lacked a sense of entry and character. The design features a series of angled walls to control views, direct people through the showroom and separate reception, display and private staff spaces. The design of the showroom was approached much like a gallery, by keeping the shell and insertions white, the vibrant colour in the rugs is emphasised and form the feature.

Project Description—
The Deli is on a difficult triangle shaped site directly opposite Coles. Traditional Deli planning is challenged & the customer is encouraged to move throughout the shop as if working in a large kitchen pantry. The lines of front and back of counter are ambiguous.

- THE TEA CENTRE

Ferry Road Markets, Southport, Queensland
Description—
Located in the popular Ferry Road Markets at Southport, the Tea Centre is a national chain of tea retail stores. The design of the Ferry Road store had to blend with the market style architecture therefore a traditional tea room aesthetic was not sutiable. The challenge was to reduce the height of the ceiling to ensure the delicate tea cups and pots were not dwarfed by the volume of the space. The yellow and brown palette are the Tea Centres’ corporate colours.

The 1960’s building was given a complete face lift with the new mixed tenancies selected to attract surrounding residents in this growing inner city suburb.

- ELIZA’S BAR

Eliza’s Bar

Sanctuary Cove, Queensland
Project Description—
The Bar is located on the edge of the Marina at Sanctuary Cove and is the public face of the villages’ 22 gaming machines. Its’ small size and so much glass dictated an unconventional approach to the planning. The patrons turn their back on the bar and look out to the view whilst the service area is more open ended; the decor remembers the domestic bar of the 1970’s.

The Sculptor Stephen Hart’s new studio is an aesthetic and functional response to a very abstract brief. Coop treaded lightly so as to not take away from the beauty that is found in the production of beautiful artwork in the studio.

- SANCTUARY COVE

Project Description—
The sales centre is the new public face of the Sanctuary Cove executive office and their Sales Centre. Located within Cox Rayner building at the entrance to the shopping precnct, the new streamlined, relaxed and light filled tenancy reflects the new generation of Sanctuary Cove residents.

Description—
The brief was to create a destination amongst their new precinct that would become a meeting place for residents and guests to the village. Patrons can enjoy coffee on the side walk, pick up fresh baked bread and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening whilst taking in the marina views.

Product Description—
The design of the T3 table was in response to our inability to find a flexible side coffee table product for a site specific project. The 3 elements sit together to create a large table or can separate to act as stools or side tables depending on the activities of the space.
